StressPack Seminar Package
The STRESSPACK seminar package provides everything a presenter needs in order to
give a professional-quality, current, and engaging stress workshop.
STRESSPACK includes:
- The Stress Seminar Presenter’s Guide. Brief instructions for giving an
effective stress
workshop (about 15 pages)
- Your Stress Seminar Toolkit. Stress workshops, seminars, and training
programs are greatly enhanced by professional-quality handouts which participants can
use during workshop exercises and take home for further review and study.
Your Stress Seminar Toolkit contains visual aids, simple questionnaires,
and summaries to be given to workshop participants. It is recommended that
presenters purchase seminar toolkits for all participants. (about 28 pages)
- The Relaxation Sampler. A 25-minute CD that demonstrates six major
approaches to relaxation introduced in the workshop:
- Yoga stretching
- Progressive muscle relaxation
- Breathing exercises
- Autogenic training
- Imagery
- Meditation and Mindfulness
The Stress Seminar covers four general topics:

A typical presentation lasts from 2-3 three hours, and can be shortened or lengthened if needed.

A Mental Health Practitioner’s Guide to New and Traditional Approaches (Smith, 2005),
Relaxation, Meditation & Mindfulness: Self-Training Manual (Smith, 2005a),
and The Stress Management Companion (Smith, 2005b). All books and seminar materials are
available on this website.

- Stress Bulls**t. Questionable approaches to stress management to watch out
for.
- The Real News on Stress. Chart listing the effects of stress on health, job
performance, and negative emotion.
- Why Too Much Stress is Bad: The Fight or Flight Response. A simple,
Scorable questionnaire to determine one’s overall stress level. Norms provided so participants can compare their scores with others.
- The Two Causes of Stress. Simple chart diagram linking stress and costs in
health and performance.

- Life Stressors List. Summary of the popular Holmes and Rahe stress test
